Dr. Maddison Paul, Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Hermosa Beach

Background

Dr. Maddison Paul is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychological assessment and therapy in the South Bay. She was born and raised in Redondo Beach, and she knows firsthand the academic, social and emotional pressures that children, teens and families here can face.

Dr. Paul completed her doctoral training in clinical psychology. She then returned to the South Bay to specialize in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, working under two experienced South Bay psychologists before independent licensure. She has about eight years of assessment experience and was licensed in California in 2025.

Today she leads MP Wellness from its office in Hermosa Beach. Therapy is also available with psychological associates who work under her supervision.

Assessment

Dr. Paul evaluates children, teens and adults for ADHD, learning disabilities (including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia), autism, auditory processing difficulties and executive function challenges, as well as emotional and behavioral concerns. Her reports are written to be clear, thorough and specific to the person. The goal is to help families understand what is going on, why, and what to do next.

Therapy

In therapy, Dr. Paul combines Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Her approach is both depth-oriented and practical. She helps people understand the patterns behind their thoughts and reactions, and she also helps them build tools that work in daily life. She works with children, teens and adults facing anxiety, depression, big emotions and life changes, especially people who feel stuck, overwhelmed or misunderstood.

Rooted in the South Bay

This is where Dr. Paul grew up, and it remains central to her work. She sees families from Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes and the wider South Bay.
